Infiniti recently took home a number of awards for a pair of its models by some of the biggest names in the auto industry: Kelley Blue Book, AOL Autos, IntelliChoice, and AutoPacific.

Infiniti’s smallest SUV, the QX50, was handed Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Award among luxury compact SUV/crossover vehicles. Such an award isn’t earned by merely being a class stalwart; it requires consumer demand as a means of achieving higher transaction prices in the used car market.

With its powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine, practical five-door design, and captivating exterior lines, it comes as no surprise that consumers want to get their hands on the Infiniti QX50 even if it means having to buy it second-hand.

Meanwhile, the bigger, seven-passenger QX60 was recognized by AOL Autos as a finalist for its Technology of the Year Award for its Backup Collision Intervention system.

Backup Collision Intervention is able to detect objects at the rear of the car, and can automatically apply the brakes if it senses the driver is failing to notice an imminent collision while backing up. This technology has the opportunity to save owners the expense of repairing a damaged rear bumper, and even more importantly, provides the chance to save the lives of children and small animals that may go unnoticed by a driver while reversing there car. AOL Autos will announce the winner of this award at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.

Besides offering technology the competition lacks, the QX60 also manages to maintain its value over time and satisfy its owners in ways other luxury SUVs are unable to.

IntelliChoice and AutoPacific took data from over 50,000 new car buyers in choosing which vehicles to give its Motorist Choice Award to. QX60 buyers were so satisfied with their purchase that the SUV was named the premium segment winner in two of the awarded categories: People Mover and Kid Friendly. With a comfortable and luxurious interior, and features such as a second-row seat that grants access to the vehicle’s third-row of seats even with a child seat installed, we are in no way surprised, but nonetheless honored, by the QX60’s top spot in these two categories.

2015 Cadillac Escalade revealed in New York City

NYC, ESV, SUV, swag

After showing off the 2015 Escalade’s interior last week, Cadillac is taking the raps off of the entire car and as expected it doesn’t disappoint. Employing Cadillac’s latest styling themes, the 2015 Escalade carries the torch of its predecessor with styling that is both elegant and striking.

Unlike the current Escalade, only two versions of the luxury SUV will be offered: the Escalade and 20-inch longer Escalade ESV. Luxury pickup truck fans will have to grab an Escalade EXT before it goes out of production.

Besides differences in exterior size and interior cargo capacity, both the Escalade and Escalade ESV are largely the same vehicles. Both come standard with a burly 420 horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, heated and cooled front seats, and Magnetic Ride Control, which allows the SUV to prioritize handling or comfort according to driving conditions.a

Of course the Escalade’s go wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of show, and features like LED headlamps and taillamps that merge into the D-pillar, as well as standard 20-inch and available 22-inch wheels, give the Escalade a distinct look compared to other large luxury SUVs.

Real wood trim, premium materials, ambient lighting, triple sealed doors, and Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system ensure that the Escalade is a comfortable and quiet place for drivers and passengers alike.

Take a peek of the new Escalade in action below and stop by Red Noland Cadillac to learn more about the forthcoming 2015 Cadillac Escalade and the rest of the Cadillac lineup.

Cadillac Shows All-New Escalade’s Interior Before Next Week’s Debut

CUE, New York, leather, wood, all-new

After wining the 2013 North American Car of the Year with its ATS sports sedan, Cadillac continues to roll out new products prepared to take on the best of the Europeans. We already showed you how Consumer Reports gushed over the new CTS and now we’re giving you a sneak peak of the soon to be unveiled next-generation Cadillac Escalade’s interior.

Looking as luxurious as ever, the new Escalade uses the company’s CUE infotainment system. Already in use in the ATS, CTS, XTS and SRX, CUE uses touch capacitive buttons with haptic feedback.

While CUE is clearly an attempt by Cadillac to set “The Standard of the World,” we have to say we’re a little surprised to see a standard column mounted gear lever in the above photo. While there’s nothing wrong with the mechanical nature of a traditional column shifter, much of the Escalade’s competition uses more compact “by-wire” shift levers.

Nonetheless, between the car’s overall size, and the apparent storage capacity of the Escalade’s center console, it doesn’t seem that drivers or passengers will be wanting for space of any kind in the all-new Escalade.

Keep an eye on Red Noland Auto Group’s official blog to learn more about the next generation Cadillac Escalade when it officially debuts next week.
