Jaguar vehicles come with advanced climate control and audio systems that allow for a high level of customization. Mastering these systems will take a little time, but by following the directions this time can be reduced significantly.
The Climate Control System
Jaguar vehicle’s feature an automatic climate control system capable of keeping the cabin at the desired temperature consistently. Learn how to manage the main features and setting up your car will be quick and easy.
Automatic Climate Setup
Most Jaguar vehicles feature a dual-climate control setup allowing the front passenger and the driver to choose their preferred temperature. Adjusting either of these levels can be accomplished easily by turning the rotary dials underneath the touchscreen display. The driver side dial adjusts the drivers temperature and the passenger-side dial alters the temperature on the passenger’s side. The center rotary knob provides control over the blower speed of the vehicle.
After the driver and passenger are satisfied with the chosen temperatures press the auto key underneath the dials to lock in these settings. With the new settings locked in the vehicle will automatically work to keep the cabin temperatures at the designated levels while driving.
If you prefer to have a bit more control over how heat is distributed through the vehicle, there are options available on the Climate Control home screen. Vent distribution options are immediately available allowing you to choose which vents will provide you with heat or air conditioning. By scanning through tabs and pressing buttons you can adjust additional settings in your vehicle.
Learning the Audio System
Before you can begin customizing your Audio System you have to enter into the Audio Settings menu by tapping the button called “Audio settings”. Now that you are in the menu you can adjust the sound of the system, the balance or fade, and turn additional features on or off.
Changing the Tone
To adjust the sound press the “Tone” button. Now simply tap on the plus or minus for each of the three selections that come up. By doing this you can alter the Bass, the Treble, and the Subwoofer sounds of your music.
Altering the Balance
Adjusting the sound balance in your vehicle is a simple process. First tap the “Balance/Fade” button and a four-way adjustment will pop up. Tap one of the four arrows to move the focal point from the center of the vehicle to the desired location. You will notice that the sound plays most loudly in that location. You can also tap on the square focal point and drag it to your desired location.
If you have any surround sound systems in your vehicle you can use the Audio settings menu to activate or deactivate them. They are all listed to the right of the stereo button. To turn on Meridian, Dolby or DTS surround just tap the button and enjoy the rich sound coming from all sides of your vehicle.
It’s possible to connect your smartphone or tablet to your Jaguar multimedia system to enable additional applications as well as give yourself more control over the system. This simple tutorial covers the steps involved and helps you quickly get your vehicle and your phone paired to one another.
The Quick Connect Guide
First you need to ensure that your ignition is on so that your multimedia system is powered up. Now select the “Phone” softkey from the home menu. Choose “Search New” to look for a new device to connect with your vehicle.
Now you’ll be presented with two different options, choose the “Device to Vehicle” option to carry out most of the syncing via your phone. After making the selection you will be prompted with a message letting you know that you have three minutes to pair your vehicle to your phone.
Open up your phone and navigate to the Bluetooth settings. Search for Bluetooth devices and look for the entry that says Jaguar. Choose this device, and create a 4-digit pin.
Now you’ll see a connection request appear on the screen of your vehicle’s multimedia system. Select “Yes” and enter the 4 digit pin that you just created a moment ago. As long as you enter the right number you will now see a confirmation letting you know that the device is connected to your vehicle. It’s possible to connect up to five different devices to your car, but only one of them may have an active connection at a time.
Getting Compatibility Information and Additional Directions for Your Device
Enter www.Jaguar.com into your web browser on your computer. When you make it onto the website select your continent as well as your country. From there you need to choose the “Owners” tab above the central graphic. Choose the “Manuals & Guides Tab” and scroll down to choose “Visit the Jaguar Bluetooth Connectivity Center” near the bottom of the page.

Navigate to your phone using the scrolling arrows and you can now see instructions about how to connect your phone to your Jaguar vehicle.
When I heard that Land Rover was releasing an updated version of their Range Rover I knew I had to take it for a test drive. Range Rovers are always fun to drive and the 2014 edition was no different. Not only does this model feature a new updated look that is all masculine SUV, but its performance is kicked up a notch with slightly more refinement as well. It’s a ride that everyone should experience at least once.
Performance and Handling
The 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport comes in two different performance flavors. It’s either equipped with a V6 engine that provides plenty of power, or a monstrous supercharged V8 that’s over the top but a heck of a lot of fun to drive around.
The V8 provides a whopping 510 horsepower and 461 lb.-ft. of torque for very fast acceleration. Both of these models are tied to an eight speed automatic transmission that can be operated with paddle shifters. The center and rear differentials are electronically locking for improved control in varied conditions. The Terrain Response System, automatically locks and unlocks both differentials to improve driving conditions, while the constant four-wheel drive gives this vehicle plenty of traction.
Seven Driving Modes
The Land Rover Range Rover features six different driving modes and the Sport edition comes with one more. The automatic setting alters performance levels to meet with the varied conditions that you come into contact with. It is also equipped with a grass/gravel/snow setting, one for mud/ruts, one for sand, a rock crawl and general setting for clear roads. The sport edition also features a dynamic mode that is for high-performance driving.
Quick downshifts and upshifts paired with a high-powered engine make the Range Rover sport very fun to drive. Press firmly on the pedal and it screams to life leaping ahead and passing the speed limit in mere moments. The throttle provides refined control but it does take some getting used to in order to operate it smoothly. The V8 model also has a nice throaty growl during hard accelerations. The supercharged V6 model isn’t quite as exciting to drive, but it isn’t sluggish either. Sufficient acceleration and plenty of control make it an enjoyable option.
Even though this Rover is designed for rough driving conditions it was also built to glide smoothly down the road. With an air suspension and active dampers most bumps and ruts in a standard road will go completely unnoticed.
The new Range Rover has a sporty look that models the Evoque more than anything else. The large wraparound headlights give the front a modern look and the LED accents only serve to enhance the effect. The small side grilles are a nice touch that give the front an intricate look and the textured side-sill is another small touch that help complete this overall package.
The 2014 Range Rover is luxurious on the inside with a fabric coated dash and soft touch materials throughout. Knobs and controls are accented by textured aluminum for a modern look. While sitting in the driver’s seat the high ride-height creates high visibility driving conditions and the highly adjustable seat provide plenty of support for a more comfortable ride. The high seat position in this Rover does make getting in and out of it a bit more challenging however.
One weakness in this highly refined interior was the multimedia system that Land Rover used. The 8-inch touchscreen is cumbersome to use and the menus are difficult to navigate. Overall the system feels a bit dated and can’t stand up to some of the more refined systems out on the market today.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport isn’t a vehicle that you’ll forget about after driving. Its high powered acceleration, luxury interior and great ride quality all make it into an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. While many people won’t want to pay the premium prices for this SUV (over 80K) those who do will certainly be getting their money’s worth.
